Are You Addicted to Triathlons?

At the end of each season, I hear it over and over again..."So & so is addicted to triathlons."

Now what does this mean? Well, I have developed a 5 question quiz to discover if, in fact, you are addicted to triathlons:

1. Your triathlon bike:
a. Is actually a rode bike
b. Costs more than the car you are currently driving

2. You spend more money on:
a. Clothes for work
b. Triathlon gear

3. Shaving your legs are:
a. Only for women
b. Part of your training because you think it will make you faster (and sexier)

4. Your diet includes:
a. The new daily nutrition triangle
b. Powerbars, gatorade, protein bars, gels, water, smoothies

5. Bricks are:
a. Something you build houses with
b. A bike to run workout that you love to do

SCORING:

  • 1-2 B's = No worries (at this point)
  • 3-4 B's = Oh-oh (somethins a-brewin)
  • 5 B's = Triath-oholic (need I say more)

For you that are Triath-oholics, don't worry, you are not alone. I admit to spending much more money on tri gear than anything else. Yes, my bike does cost more my truck. And yes, I do shave my legs (with the Venus).

Become addicted to triathlons is completely understandable. Competitions, losing weight and enjoying exercising is all addicting. This sport is really about each person finding out what they and their own body can accomplish.

My hats are off to all the newbies, rookies and first timers who are quickly becoming addicted to triathlons. Be smart, be safe and keep on tri-ing.
