Being a triathlete and "new" to the sport, I have grown to like the Tech T's in the past two years. They have become the "in" shirt style at most races. Some thoughts:
Nice and light
Comfortable to run in or workout in
Seems like you are getting more shirt for your race fee
Growing up wearing and working out in Cotton T's, I really did not know any different until recently. Some thoughts:
Wide variety of colors and options
Can wear them any place
More "stuff" you can do with them
As I have race many more events in the last few years, I can tell you that I have become a much bigger fan of COTTON RACE T-SHIRTS. You may ask why, so here you go:
- You can only wear Tech T's to workout in. I am never going to wear one to the bar with a pair of jeans on. Nor will I wear one unless I am training. They are designed to workout in, not to wear to the movies.
- Cotton T's can be worn any where, any time. If I am a race director or sponsor, I want my "stuff" seen everywhere. That means, a Cotton Tee. If the shirt is nice, then people will wear it EVERYWHERE!
- Cotton T's are more comfortable, period! They don't chaffe or need special washing instructions. Wear, wash, repeat.
- Quilts...you can't make a quilt out of Tech T's.
Maybe I am "old school", but I really like the cool looking Cotton T's that we used to get at most races. Actually, I have never worn a t-shirt I have gotten from a race because I am saving them for nice quilt I hope my mom will make for me.
Finally, if I had my say, I would ask race directors to change colors of their t's every year or so. White is fine, but it gets old. Give me red, orange, blue, black or pink (ok, not pink). Please?!?!
