Races: What Are You Looking For?

As triathletes, we all spend quite a bit of money trying to satisfy our multi-sport addiction by participating in races across the country.

Let's be honest, not every race is worth the money you lay down. I have done races in which the transition areas are in different locations, roads are nasty, water is gross, or the post race food is less than desireable.

My goal is to offer a personal critique of races the I particpate(d) in. Most have been good, while a few others, not so good. I am not planning to "bash" any race but instead offer an honest opinion based on a scale I/we come up with.

With this in mind, I ask you the following:

What is important to you when selecting a race to attend? Remember, you are paying upwards of $200.00 to attend some of these events. Here are some initial thoughts to consider:

Location
Cost
Food
Safety
Schwag Bag
T-Shirt
Family Friendly

Please feel free to add topics, suggestions and whatever else you feel is important. Once I get some input (or not), I will begin to offer up a rating scale for others to look at and thing about.

I look forward to hearing from many of you.
